This raspi component is an MQ-2 gas sensor. This can detect combustible gases and smoke. Gas sensors are interesting to me because they are used in smoke detectors and air quality testers. These are devices that are somewhat pertinent to a biomedical engineering project I worked on over the summer. A 5V power supply can be used to power an MQ-2 gas sensor.
